Le premier Concours International Bordeaux Médoc Lyrique s’est tenu du 7 au 10 Novembre 2018 au Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux.

En 2018 l’Opéra de Bordeaux et Musique au Cœur du Médoc s’associent et proposent ce concours aux jeunes chanteurs lyriques du monde entier.
Leur objectif est de mettre en avant les talents de ces jeunes artistes en leur permettant de rencontrer un jury composé de représentants des plus grands opéras internationaux.

MODALITÉS ET RÈGLEMENT DU CONCOURS
- Accompagnement : Plusieurs pianistes accompagnateurs sont prévus, sans frais supplémentaires pour les candidats. Chaque candidat peut se faire accompagner par son propre pianiste (à ses frais). La demi-finale et la finale seront précédées d’un temps de répétition avec les pianistes. Les éliminatoires seront précédés d’une rencontre avec les pianistes où seront évoqués les tempo, les traditions et coupures… Les candidats ne seront pas obligatoirement accompagnés par le même pianiste lors des différentes épreuves pour des raisons pratiques d’organisation.
- Concours en trois étapes : Le concours se déroule en trois phases : éliminatoires, demi- finale publique et finale publique.
- Règles à respecter :
- Les airs ne seront pas transposés et seront chantés dans la langue originale de la création de l’ouvrage.
- Le candidat doit fournir au pianiste une partition de l’air chanté dans une version piano/chant lisible, préparée, en bon état.
- Les œuvres sont chantées de mémoire.
- Les candidats sont jugés sur leurs qualités vocales et musicales.
- Les délibérations du jury se dérouleront à huis clos et seront sans appel.
- Pour les éliminatoires et pour la demi- finale, une tenue correcte est demandée.
- Pour la finale, une tenue de gala est exigée.

IN 2018 THE OPERA DE BORDEAUX AND MUSIQUE AU COEUR DU MEDOC
have joined forces to propose this competition for young opera singers from all over the world. Their aim is to bring to the forefront the talents of these young artists by giving them a chance to perform in front of a jury composed of representatives of some of the most distinguished international opera companies.
Candidates will present a list of five arias of which at least two in French. All the auditions will take place in the Grande Salle of the Opera National de Bordeaux.
A Masterclass, directed by Marc Minkowski will be offered to those candidates selected for the semi-final. This will take place on 8th November at Château Marojallia in Margaux. Both the semi-final and the final will be public performances.
Due to the flow of last minute applications, the deadline has been extended by a week until July 7th 2018, 23:59

CONDITIONS OF THE CONCOURS
Accompaniment :
Several accompanying pianists will be available without extra charge for the candidates.
Candidates who prefer to be accompanied by their own pianist may do so but at their own expense.
The semi-final and final will be preceded by a rehearsal with the pianists.
The eliminating auditions will be preceded by a meeting with the accompanying pianists during
which such things as tempo, traditions and cuts can be evoked.
Competition in three stages
There are three stages to the competition : eliminating auditions, public Semi-final and public final.
Rules to be observed :
– The arias must not be transposed and are to be sung in the language of the creation of the work.
– The candidate must provide the accompanying pianist with a partition of the aria sung in
a version prepared for piano and voice that is readable and in good condition.
– The works are to be sung from memory.
– Candidates will be judged on both their vocal and musical qualities.
– The deliberations of the jury will take place behind closed doors without right of appeal.
– For the playoffs and for the semi-final, a correct dress is required
– For the final a gala outfit is required
CONDITIONS FOR ENTERING
The competition is open to candidates of every nationality, aged from 18 to 32.
The number of candidates taking part is limited to 40.

Deadline for receipt of entry forms and relevant informations is July 7th 2018.
Following a preselection by the Concours organizational committee the list of those candidates retained to compete will be announced not later than July 25th 2018.
A sum of 150 € to defray costs will be allocated to those finalists non laureats.
